A Season To Move!

After a time we say good bye to winter and hello Spring 2026.

2025's resonances have left us with something useful and Poets Built It opens to bring you a new program based on the theme of 'Movement'.

Why Movement?

My own experience of working with choreograhers and has always fascinated me. When I cannot find words for a poem I will get up from my chair and move. My hands and arms start doing strange things as if to mould the word I am looking for in front of me.

I then think about ceramicists I have worked with and how the potter’s wheel and the power of the hand on clay is movement and the energy of the potter will.

I then think “it’s time get off the laptop and pick up a pen”. Then, the word might come to me, as the flow of the pen on paper slows my thinking. The liquid of imagination moves as the smoothest spring water. (The highest alkaline Ph balanced. No less that 8.2ph). The word is rolls into focus. It is found. The thirst is quenched.

Movement This Season
In Poets Built It Critique Club, we'll travel across the globe to share with poets and spoken word artists about all the craft have gifted us with. We will saddle the pulse of a poems flow and surgically reveal the rich nourishment in the work of other poets and spoken word artists who are guiding lights on the path.

We will change gears to find out how to shift or scale the walls we sometimes find in our writing practice so we can keep evolving with a Writer's Building Block Sessions

And will move our way through the sound of words when they spark the archives of spoken word and poetry in one cities that has championed the spread of poetry into every home, school, bar and library.

It’s a great theme for an initiation. No standing still. whether it’s backward to go forward, I’m sure, in this season’s program, there will be something that will move you.
