We bring together poets and spoken word artists from diverse background, abilities, ages and genders, seeking community to strengthen our practices as writers in a safe space.

We also bring together artists who wish to support each other through difficult blocks in their writing practice and challenging transitions in their creative careers.

    Your stories and experiences may be exactly what another poet needs to hear to solve a problem or seize an opportunity.

    The Poets Built It Community aims push our members forward, while raising them up. We find ways to help each other think bigger, reframe challenges, and stay curious.

  • This Is An Artists Led And Cared For Space.
    Sometimes we can be poetically outraged.
    We choose to respond with thoughtful and creative interventions and space for art/ poetry to be created.

  • Respectfully we meet everyone where they are at.
    The goal is to accept differing opinions and keeping a fair dialogue moving and evolving forward for a healthy artistic existence, and for the health of the community.

This section of this page outlines some of the essential components protecting individuals' privacy and security in this virtual space. 

We have a zero- tolerance policy against harassment, personal attacks or abuse based on someone’s age, disability, gender identification, race, religion or sexual identification. 

We also have a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, including racial, sexual or personal attacks against members inside or outside of this community.

We ask that all members respect this policy, so that we can to cultivate a community atmosphere based in trust, positivity and collective future thinking.
